My Opening Sequence

This Is our Establishing shot including our production company. We put it at the front as they would have been our primary funders if making the film for real.

This shot shows the one of the Marque Names which is why Hes at the start.

This Shot is to show the title of the film as the boy at bus stop gets scared by his friends.

This shot shows both the directors of the film.

This image shows the tittle showing who the film has been shot by.

This image shows the titles for two of the charactors who are in our movie.

This image shows the title for the person who done the filming for the film.

We tried to put the titles in the order of importance. This is why the name Kadeem McFarlane follows the production company because I am supposed to be a marquee name so I would have demanded to be nearer to the front of the title sequence.

Opening Movie Credits

During one of our media lessons we spent some time doing research into the opening credits of two different films, vertigo and seven. When watching the opening credits I realised the cast are placed in specific places. For example the production company is placed at the beggening of the movie. Also the director is both at the start and near the of the onening sequence this reflects the directors importance in the making of the movie. We also spoke about the actors being placed at the start because they cost the most money but they may not have been in it the most.
This was for the movie Vertigo, which was filmed in the 50's. You can it an older movie because
they include the technical aspects of the movie making, for example they included technicolor. This is something you wouldn't see in  movies today.

1st Time Editing

Yesterday was my first time editing my movie. Editing the footage that my partner an I had wasn't a problem we were easily able to cut place the footage in the correct order with the good transitions, the problem was the footage that we had. When we were going over it we realised a few mistakes in the videos for example in one of the videos we could see one of the phones we was using for light in the shot. So we are going to redo that sscene. Filming was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be because our location was outside we had to race against sunlight before it too dark which it did so we had to sop film. Another difficulty was our ability to film because our location had a lot of trees and bushes zoo getting the camera in the right place difficult due to the tress and bushes getting in the way. So too o overcome this we are going to film in another location but still use the abandoned house in our current one.

Two More Ways I Would Market My Movie...

I had already posted how I would market my movie if provided with some money to do so. If I was given even more money to market my movie there are two things i would want to spend the money on:

I would want a website as it is a easy way to advertise the movie to the world without costing to much, because its a widely used  resource. My website would have various things for the user to download for free for example wallpapers of different characters and posters. The trailer would be on the website to show the audience what type of movie it and things the could expect to see, along with that I would want a featurette to show the actors opinions on the movie and what they like about it. A synopses will be on it too to let the audience know the background of the film.
A good website to look at is:

Another thing I would spend my money is to advertise my movie on different TV channels. The way would do is by playing the trailer then show interviews with the actors. I would want interviews with different characters on different TV channels. I think this way of marketing is good because it allows the movie to be shown to variety of different audiences and the interviews about the movie would be about different aspects specific to the TV channel.

Feedback From My Animatic

The feedback me and partner received was good overall. Unfortunately when trying to present the video to the class we had a slight technical error because some of the photos which were uploaded had been saved on my portable hard drive and not on the computer network but it was still watchable. My class mates said our movie opening was good build up to the rest of the movie. They also gave us tips on how we can do our flashback for example: Doing it in black and white which makes it look like a past event more obviously and awe could also blur the edges of the frame but then we were saying that looks more like a dream so i think me my partner will do it in black and white. One criticism we had was we used to many mid-shots and close-ups so they said we need to more of a variety of camera shots. They were happy with our location as it fits very well with our story line.
To watch our animatic play the video above and enjoy.

My Movie Location

Me and my partner have chose this destination because
it fits in well with our story line because the group of
boys decide to walk down a dark alley/pathway and as
you can see from the photos its quite a dark place and
very secluded which should also make it easier to film without
passers by getting in the way.

3 Things I Would Like My Distributor To Spend Money On

One thing I would like my distributor to spend money on are trailers. This is because it will advertise the film and give the audience an insight into my film giving the audience something  to look forward to.
Click the link to see a trailer I like:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yneMKpmA8w

I would also want my distributor to spend money on media advertisement as it will raise awareness for my film because its the most effective visual way to reach the audience and sell the film.

The last thing I would like my distributor to spend money on is publicity. I think it's a good way to advertise the film to audience who don't watch TV or go online.

Feedback From My Movie Pitch

My partner and I presented a prezzi showing the various ideas about our horror movie and recieve feedback from our peers. Werecieved a lot of good feedback from our movie pitch which I was very happy about. One of the good things about my movie is that it isn't to complecated and its simplicity may be quite effective. A problem with the movie is it may be quite long and run over two minutes we have for our movie so we'll have to find a way to shorten the movie opening.

If you would like to have a look at my prezzi click on the linnk below and enjoy:

Things I would expect in a horror film

One the main things I would expect to see in a horror film is darkness which can make the audience scared as they can't see as much and usually thats when bad things happen like someone gets stabed or eaten.

The next thing I would expect from a horror film is creepy charactors, for instance little girls/boys can be scary as you would expect them to be innocent, people wearing masks which makes them scary because you can't see who they are and also freaks of nature who are scary becuase their abnormal.

In any horror film you can always expect there to some type of violence to scare the audience for example someone being stabed and someone being eaten by a zombie.

The shot types I would expect:
-Establishing shot
-Extreme close-ups
-Point of view Shot
- High angle shot
-Over the shoulder
-Low angle shot
