Evaluation Question 3
The feedback received from the people who
have seen my video has been very positive. The video was complimented for its
use of the different methods of transport. They liked it because it’s not
something you would typically see in a music video, along with that the action
in the video matches the music making it more exciting to watch.
This
is something I also liked about the video and if I had to re-shoot the video I
would do again. Although filming some of the shots with the different methods
of transport was more difficult than we had anticipated for example the
tracking shots, we were able to come up with different ways of filming
therefore learning knew things while we shoot.
Audience liked the used of titles on the
video. They said liked it because it made the video even more interesting.
Along with that they said it built up anticipation before something happened
for example when the main character left his house after the ‘I cant stop
titles’, which they thought was a good touch.
My
partner and I included the titles to make the video more interesting for the
user to watch so I’m happy it had the desired effect on the audience. I also
like the titles building up anticipation in the video as it kept the audiences
wanting to see what was coming next.
What most people liked about the video was
the humor we included. They thought the idea of riding all over London to get
free food, for the store to be closed by the time they get there quite funny.
I was
happy that audiences liked the humor my partner and I included in our video. That
was our plan to try and make the video more enjoyable for the audience.

Evaluation Question 1
Frame 1:
Location
This is a
frame taken from my music video when were in marble arch. I think in our music
video my partner and I stuck to the conventions of a dubstep music video as
they often filmed in London. All of the filming we done for our music was
filmed in London. We decided to stick to the conventions of the genre as it was
the easiest option for us as we live in London.
Also because London is a big big city with lots going on which can be
quite exciting like the music is.
Frame 2:
Costume and
Props
We again
stuck to the conventions of dubstep music videos when we decided on the costume
and the props we were going to use. As you can see in the image we chose to go
with casual clothing as that’s typically what teenage boys would were whilst
just going to the shop, it would be bizarre if they were wearing smart cloths to
simply go and get food. We wanted to make it look natural.
Frame 3:
Camera and
Editing
In our music
video we stuck to in conventions again in terms of the camera and the editing.
We tried to keep the editing fast paced to keep up with the music. We also used
a variety of camera angles throughout the video to try and make it more exciting
to watch for the audience, as making it a slower place may have made the video
quite boring and dull.
Frame 4:
Story:
This frame
shows what happens at the end of the story when the main character arrives at
the chicken shop. The story is about a guy who gets a text from a restaurant
with a free food promotion so he gets a couple of his mates, and attempts to
make it to the restaurant before it closes. We tried to add humour into the
video as when he gets to restaurant its closed. A story like this subverts
conventions of most dubstep video storylines when there is one.
Frame 5
The genre of my music video is dubstep. My
partner and I have tried to show this by sticking to the conventions usual
dubstep music videos. We did this by using fast pace editing to match the pace
of the music. Sticking to this convention I think was a good choice for the content
of our music video. If the footage was all quite slow the audience would most
likely find it quite boring and quickly lose interest.
Frame 6:
Character
Representation
The
characters in the music video are represented as typical teenage boys. There costumes
are casual clothes, we chose to have them wear casual clothes because they were
riding bike and roller blades. Along with that they were just going to a
chicken shop so if they were wearing smart cloths it would be bizarre.
Frame 7
Special
Effects:
Throughout
our music video there are tittles in various languages. This subverts the
conventions of a typical dubstep music video because the use of titles isn’t
common in this genre of music videos. I liked our use of titles because it’s
different and makes the video more exciting. Also it helps to build
anticipation before something happens in the video.

Special
Effects
In my music
video I subverted from the conventions of dubstep music videos. In most dubstep
videos its uncommon to see special effects used the way we did. We played with
the footage when the main character was on his way down the stairs, which we
reversed to make it look like the main character was going back up the stairs. I
thought it was a good effect because it made the start of the video more
interesting for the audience while they watch.
Frame 9
Props
We subverted
from the genre of typical dubstep videos by the props that we used. Its quite
rare to see props like bikes and roller skates used in dubstep music videos. I
think it would be good to see more music videos produced like ours, because it’s
pretty exciting and entertaining to watch. That’s why we chose our theme for
our music video.

My Digipak
Changes to Digipak:
-My partner and I decided to change the front cover of the digipak that we had originally planned. We made this decision because it was difficult to make it look appealing. This was due to the fact that the front cover was only I cant in block capitals over a black background. This to my partner and looked appealing when we had drawn in it paper however when designing it on photoshop it was quite bland and boring to look at. So instead we decided to use a picture of the main character skating with the name of the single written along wavy line. We thought this design looked a lot more interesting to look and a very clear connection to the music video can be made by the audience.
-For the same reasons as the front cover my partner and I made changes to the back cover of the digipak also. Instead of having the word "stop" in block capitals over a black background we the decided to print the word stop in various languages all over the back cover over a picture of one of the locations in the music video. This like the new front cover allows the audience to make clear connections to the music video, as thought the music video there are title scenes with different languages.
Evaluation Question 4
Youtube:
We used youtube in the making of our music video to look at other music videos allowing us to look for the conventions of music videos for the genre of our song. Youtube was also a good tool to for finding videos tutorials on how to use photoshop, creating different effects to use for our advert and digtipak. Yotube was also to showcase our music video to larger audience.
Premier Pro:
This was again a good program to use when creating our music video. It allowed to cut parts of the footage we filmed together matching it to the beat making it look professional. It was also what we used to make the titles that feature in our video. I think premier is a good program to use for editing videos because it offers a plenty of different effects for you to use for example in our video the start of one of the shots was shaky but in the video it isn't noticeable because we used a cross fade transition.
Photoshop:
Before I started using photoshop for my ancillary tasks my knowledge of how to use photoshop was quite limited. However I think now that i have made my digipak and advert i feel my knowledge of how to use photoshop has increased to a more intermediate level. This was with the help of instruction from teachers in my media lessons and also watching tutorials to learn different techniques.
Blogger:
This blogging website is what I have been using throughout the duration of my media to publish all of my work like my research and planning, animatic, ancillarly tasks and so on.

A camera is a pretty useful peice of equipment when filming, as without it we would have no footage. One thing I liked about this camera was the ablility to play the footage back just after filming, so if there was anything wrong we could quickly re-shoot it.
Survey Monkey:
Survey Monkey is a website used to produce surveys; the link to the survey can then be distributed to those whom you wish to fill in the survey. I like using this website because its a cheap way to distribute your survey. I used survey monkey to quiz people on things they like to see in music videos and how they watch music videos. The results from the music video allowed my partner and I determine the content of the video.

Prezi is a website used to produce creative presentations. I used it to make presentations for the pitches I made to my media class pitching my partner and I's ideas for our music video. I like using prezi because its an alternative way to present a presentation instead of using Microsoft Powerpoint, which can be quite boring sometimes.

Advert Final Design
I quite like the advert my partner and I made for our music video. I think it targets my target audience quite well. I appeals to my target audience becuase it featured the main character in his skates. I think my audience will like it because they are able to identify with the main character, this is for various reasons. One being he is wearing very casual clothing for his costume, this is the kind of cloths people in my audience are likey to wear. Along with that the age of the character fits into age of my target audience ranging between 17-23, people often identify with people of a similar age.
